Volunteer with Open Hand, and you just might be surprised at how good it will make you feel. Whether you have a little time to spend in the kitchen, or you want to help out during Dining Out 2008, we can always use a hand. Or several. In fact, if you and a group from your workplace, school or church want to pitch in...the more the merrier! We'll do whatever we can to match your skills to the tasks that interest you the most, and we guarantee to make it an experience that'll nourish your soul.
In 2007, we were fortunate to have a record number of Dining Out for Life Ambassadors and Volunteers, and if you were one of the individuals who helped make Dining Out for Life so successful, we want you to know how much we appreciate -- and truly depend upon -- your support. We sure hope to see you again this year!
Register Now to Become a Dining Out for Life Ambassador! 
AMBASSADORS
You'll be responsible for inviting all of your friends and family to Dine Out at your restaurant on April 23rd. Sounds fun, doesn't it? But wait...there's more. You'll work with the DOFL Team Manager (and other Volunteers) to help ensure that participating restaurants have our complete support before, during and immediately after the event. You'll be available to answer any questions anyone may have about the event itself or the mission of Open Hand. You'll distribute raffle envelopes to those who'd like to make a donation, and you'll collect them after they've been filled out by the donors. We'll even have a couple of orientation sessions with all Ambassadors and Volunteers before the event just to make sure you're comfortable with everything.
Requirements? Attendance at one of the Ambassador orientation sessions, some time to get to know the manager/staff of the restaurant, a basic understanding of the work of Open Hand, and that wonderful personality of yours!

Wednesday, April 2nd at 6:30pm
Thursday, April 10th at 6:30pm
Saturday, April 12th at 2:00pm
Saturday, April 19th at 2:00pm
Sunday, April 20th at 1:00pm
AMBASSADOR SUPPORT
You'll help "market" DOFL in the neighboring community, and you'll support the restaurant Ambassador in their efforts the night of the event. You may help them collect raffle envelopes, answer questions about the event or Open Hand...or you may simply dine out with a group of friends and be on hand if the Ambassador needs you. Either way, it's all about having fun for a great cause.
Requirements? Nothing more than a great attitude, and a basic understanding of the event and the work of Open Hand!
HOSTS
As the name implies, all you have to do is invite your friends and/or family to dine with you on April 23rd at your favorite restaurant. (Don't worry, you don't have to pick up the tab -- in fact, you don't have to do anything other than eat, drink and tip!) In the past, we've had hosts who've gathered together groups of 10, 20...up to 100 folks to have a great night out in support a wonderful cause. If you do have a large group, however, we urge you to make arrangements with the restaurant beforehand. Or you can visit www.OpenTable.com and make reservations.
